\u201cIs a VPN\u00a0<\/span>secure? How can I make sure I\u2019m protected? Are there ways to increase security?\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

By default, a VPN solution encrypts data between users\u00a0<\/span>(who might be working from home)<\/span>\u00a0and your remote network (your office). Thus, if an ill-intentioned person intercepts the data accessed via VPN (emails, voice, etc.), they will be coded and very difficult to exploit. Evidently, coding levels vary by VPN solutions.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, a VPN solution\u00a0<\/span>cannot<\/span>\u00a0protect against a user\u2019s behaviour, including the websites they visit or the apps they choose to download or install.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As such, the use of a security plug-in affixed directly to a user\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>PC will offer extra protection, limiting\u00a0<\/span>that user\u2019s possible usage (depending on a company\u2019s work policy). The extension needs to be activated in order to allow the user to connect to the Internet or\u00a0<\/span>an<\/span>other remote network. By activating the extension, all content that can be accessed via the user\u2019s computer will first be filtered by the VPN, according to the company\u2019s implemented work policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
